De Brincat, Joan, late of San Mateo, and San Mateo County resident for 56 years, entered into rest in San Mateo on December 20, 2024, with family close by. Beloved wife of Edward De Brincat for 62 years. Loving mother of daughter, Tracy DeBrincat and her husband Carl Peel of Los Angeles, and son, Jon De Brincat of Hua Hin, Thailand. Devoted daughter of Edward and Eileen Kelly of San Francisco. Dear sister of Judith Kelly of Redwood City; twin sister, Joyce Boullet of Lafayetteville, Georgia; Janice Kelly de Musiate of Zihuatanejo, Mexico; Jerilyn Mullan and her husband Michael Mullan of San Francisco; and brother, Jay Kelly and Deanna Stokes of San Bruno.
Born and raised in San Francisco, "Joanie" was an alumnus of St. Paul's High School, where she enjoyed close, laughter-filled friendships that lasted decades. She was a secretary at PG&E until she and Ed moved to San Bruno in 1968 to raise their children. Joan worked for the City of San Bruno until her retirement in 1993. She adored her family and friends, travel, a good party, almost any restaurant, a view of the ocean, and enjoyed yoga and dancing. She wrote the best thank-you notes of all time.
Her ashes are at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, corner of Crystal Springs Road and Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo, on March 20 at 11 a.m. Lunch reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite organization, and expresses heartfelt gratitude for the loving, professional support from the nurses, caregivers, and angels at Supple Senior Care, Pacific Care Home, and Suncrest Hospice Care.
